Christians to Use CBD Oil

Is It Okay for Christians to Use CBD Oil?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical derived from the cannabis plant. It can be found in marijuana. Initially, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is a chemical that creates highness in marijuana was part of CBD oil. However, modern products are devoid of this chemical.

The legality of CBD Oil

CBD oil is classified under medicinal marijuana, which is legal in most parts of the world. All states in the United States have developed laws to legalize the oil but the degree of legality varies. The federal laws classify CBD oil in the same class as marijuana but they are not strict on the regulations.

Benefits of CBD oil

Research has shown that CBD oil has several health benefits. It is used in the management of seizures, anxiety, insomnia, some cancers, dystonia, bipolar disorder, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s. It is also used as anesthesia and treating some addictions, including tobacco and opioid. The World Health Organization (WHO) has indicated that it does not contain addictive elements.

Risks associated with CBD Oil Products

CBD oil products are highly unregulated. This means that they can be easily tampered with and THC may be present, leading to addiction. Pure CBD oil does not have serious adverse effects. Side effects of pure CBD oil include dry mouth effects, drowsiness, and headaches.  It is always advisable to consult a doctor if you intend to use CBD oil.

What Bible Says about CBD Oil

When the bible was written, CBD oil was not yet discovered, and thus, the authors could not have anything specific about the oil. However, the Bible has general things to say to Christians regarding the way they should live. In Ephesians 5:8, the Bible warns against taking substances that affect the state of the mind and decision making.

FDA Approved CBD Oil Products

Normally, CBD does not contain THC. However, the product is highly unregulated in its production, and thus, some might contain the addictive elements. This status places Christians in a dilemma.

At one time, Paul was in the same state, as indicated in Romans Chapter 14. Some Christians thought that eating meat sold by Pagans would transmit evil spirits, while others believed that the meat was independent and harmless to their spiritual life.

Paul’s assumption was that both sides were neither wrong nor right but urged the Christians to exercise caution while buying meat from the pagans. He asked the Christians who believed the meat was safe not to eat it in front of the people who believe it could cause spiritual harm. The same applies to the CBD oil.

If you believe that it will be beneficial to your health, go ahead and use it, but do not use it in the presence of a person who believes the product is harmful to the mental state of the user.

Some people view CBD oil as an evil product by virtue of being derived from the cannabis plant and its association with marijuana. They view taking any product associated with marijuana as a sin, and thus, it is important to take the product in their absence.
