How to prepare your own Funeral and Memorial Prayer Card

The cards are usually rectangular with a dimension of 4.5 by 2.25 inches. The funeral and memorial cards can be purchased from various vendors; however, it is relatively easy to prepare your own cards using simple steps.

Step 1: Assemble all the requirements for the card including the photo

Select the best photo to be printed on the front side of your cards. The front should also contain the name, date of birth and date of death. You should add a caption sentence as the title such as in loving memory of …, in remembrance of…or celebrating the life of ….. Select the information to put on the back, such as a poem, verse or a short prayer.

Step 2: Choose the card design

Step 3: Choose a template

There are also programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop software. Making your own template is more complex and time-consuming. Purchasing an already prepared template will save you time, but you should make sure you buy a user-friendly template that will not give you difficulties while preparing your card.

Step 4: Enter the information to the already prepared template

Enter your photos and images to the template. Also, enter the text and ensure the colors and fonts are well-formatted. It is vital to proofread your text before printing the final card to ensure they do not contain any errors.

Step 5: Print your card

Once you are through with your card, ensure it is well saved in your computer. Print a first copy to act as the test copy. Review the copy to ensure it matches your requirements, and there are no details left out. You should use a high-quality computer and papers for an appealing product. Also, ensure your computer is appropriately functioning before printing.

Step 6: Cut and finalize on your card

Once you have printed your cards, cut them to ideal sizes. You could be having eight pieces per paper. You can use a pre-scored paper that is marked to ensure proper and smooth cutting.
